Places of interest in Mungpoo:
Cinchona Plantation: Mungpoo is well known for Cinchona plantation which is used for extraction of Quinine and other medicinal herbs. As you wind up towards Mungpoo you would see the barks of Cinchona dotting the hills. The first such Cinchona plantation began in 1984 in Mungpoo.

Rabindra Bhawan: Mungpoo also shares the pride of being the Summer Retreat of Rabindra Nath Tagore, a great poet and a Nobel Laureate.

It is in this place where he wrote his critically acclaimed poem "Janmadin." In the summers of 1938- 1940 Rabindranath Tagore visited this place 4 times. This place has now been converted as a Museum and houses some of his items like his Mahogany Desk, Bed etc.

Quinine Factory: Another must in this place would be the Quinine factory run by the government which demonstrates the process of extraction of Quinine from Cinchona.
